New research (pdf) from Envision Retail shows that only 19% of store visitors convert into purchasers. Coming in the same week that Nielsen set out his 90:9:1 split between lurkers, occasional and frequent contributors to websites, it's clear that in every sphere of activity "browsers" are by far and away the significan majority.
