Topshop website pursues the almighty dollar

The fashion retailer is to extend its site to accept payments in US dollars ahead of the opening of its flagship US store in New York

Topshop website pursues the almighty dollar

Arcadia Group's Topshop and Topman websites are to accept payments in US dollars from next month. The move comes ahead of the opening of the fashion retailer's first US store in New York this autumn.

The sites already offer shipping to the US, but offers and features tailored to the American market are expected to start appearing on them shortly, according to a report in Retail Week.

Indeed a microsite for the new store advises US customers that the Manhattan flagship is coming this November but "you don't have to wait until then to shop Topshop, the award winning Topshop.com now ships to the USA."

Topshop already has a smattering of franchise-run shops around the world but the 40,000 sq ft store in Manhattan will be the first in the US to be owned and run by Arcadia.
