Research report on UK supermarkets
Online sales in the UK are anticipated to account for more than 19% of the combined retail sales by 2012 and are projected to exceed £62 billion. According to research by RNCOS, UK supermarkets need to build infrastructure, which will enable them to foray into the online retail market.
Its report 'UK Supermarket Analysis (2007-2010)' says that online retailing will "come out as a critical mode of retail". Supermarkets that have well-known brands and are trusted names may be the first preference for the customers when it comes to shopping online. For the store chains also, the space will not remain a constraint and therefore, they can offer a wide range of products.
The 55-page, $1,000 market research report provides analysis of the UK supermarkets including market performance, financial services, industry analysis, future outlook and profiles of Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury's, Morrisons, Waitrose and Fresh & Wild (which opens an 80,000 square foot store in Kensington, London, today).
