Paypal extends service to 'virtual debit cards'.

Datamonitor reports that Ebay's Paypal is to roll out a 'virtual debit card' that'll allow Paypal to be accepted by online Mastercard systems. This will move Paypal outside its ebay-based customer file.

Datamonitor adds:

PayPal says the virtual card will function just like a normal debit card, but uses 'one time only' randomly-generated account numbers to enhance consumers' security.
