"Mobile vouchers" can now be redeemed via the PayPoint network

i-Movo's deal with PayPoint significantly extends the reach and viability of mobile vouchering for retailers.

We've mentioned i-movo before and in 2006 we were impressed at the integration between web, mobile phone and the redemption of the e-voucher via standard payment terminals.

i-movo has now gone a step further, closing a deal that gives access to the extensive PayPoint network and this takes the offering from being a niche or interesting product to one with a useful reach.

i-movo's clients to date have included a number of newspapers (and of course the Eros card with London's Evening Standard) and this means that the PayPoint tie-up is all the more interesting given the prevalence of their terminals in the nation's newspaper/corner shops.

David Tymm, i-movo’s CEO said: “We estimate about a third of all newspapers sales in the UK are through PayPoint outlets. PayPoint outlets also account for significant volume in other categories such as confectionery, drinks and snacks. Extending our retail footprint to cover PayPoint outlets offers consumer brands a ready-made national network to run digital voucher and cashless payment schemes that embrace both branded and independent retailers“.
