Long Tall Sally adopts fast quick ecommerce solution

Retailer chooses QuickLive Commerce to support international multi-channel expansion plans

Long Tall Sally adopts fast quick ecommerce solution

Long Tall Sally has become the first retailer to sign up for QuickLive Commerce, the Portaltech/Hybris joint e-commerce solution "designed to appeal to new and existing online merchants that need to develop or upgrade their e-commerce websites and take advantage of next generation customer experience technologies."

The new system is designed to make it easier to maintain Long Tall Sally's website, reduce training requirements, eliminate the costs of integrating disparate technologies and support the retailer's strategy of expanding internationally. The latest product information and pricing, for instance, will now be available from a single source, whether it is accessed via the online channel, via the established mail order catalogue and call centre operators or in-store. Enhanced merchandising and promotional capabilities including full-text search, interactive product recommendation and a user review system will also be included.

Hybris "is very much an enterprise platform (similar to ATG and IBM) which needs to be customised in order to meet a clients business requirements, often meaning an extensive services engagement to get up and running," explained Mark Adams, Portaltech's head of sales. "The proposition behind QuickLive is that a client can get the power, flexibility and scalability of the underlying Hybris platform... in a much shorter timeframe and be able to compete with retailers using enterprise e-commerce technology."

"Portaltech understood our complex e-commerce requirements in a very short time frame," said Andrew Shapin, Long Tall Sally's managing director. "The highly responsive and innovative team provided the detailed technical documentation and implementation methodology we needed to have absolute confidence in their ability to implement the QuickLive Commerce platform in an extremely short timeframe."

"Their experience in delivering multi-language, multi-currency e-commerce was particularly important for us and we are confident that our investment will provide a firm foundation for our business in the long term," Shapin continued.

The first phase in the migration to QuickLive Commerce will take place with the launch of Long Tall Sally's UK online shop in October, to promote the Christmas catalogue in the run up to the festive season peak sales period.
