IVIS awarded by Microsoft
Multi-channel solutions provider IVIS Group has won the multi-channel category in Microsoft's EMEA Retail Application Developer Awards. The Sonetto Pricing and Promotions Management (PPM) solution, for which the company won its award, is an application that allows a retailer to fully manage and control prices and promotions across a multi-channel environment.
Sonetto PPM provides multi-layered pricing and promotions calculation across products, bundles, categories, baskets and coupons with the system dynamically creating pricing and promotions using business rules and promotional templates. These are applied in real time when calculating basket price to ensure that the end customer gets the best value - a marketing tool which many multi-channel retailers are employing to encourage online purchases.
IVIS Group lists Tesco.com amongst its customers.
The Microsoft EMEA Retail Application Developer (RAD) Awards programme is an annual competition that recognises application developers who make the best use of Microsoft technology to provide business value to their customers in the retail industry.

This year a single special award, the People-Ready Business in Retail Award, was presented by Microsoft to reward the technology solution that is providing people working in retail organisations with the tools to help them strengthen customer relationships, improve operations, build high-value business connections and drive retail innovation that benefits the organisation as a whole. Retail Manager, developed by Triangle Computer Services, and referred to by one of the judges as "a truly liberating solution", was announced as the winner of the special award. The solution's ability to reduce manual and paper-based processes in store and enhance employee productivity while maintaining a focus on customer service contributed to its success.
Dilip Popat, managing director of the retail industry solutions unit, Microsoft EMEA, said, "The Microsoft EMEA RAD Awards are a showcase for innovative technology in retail. At the heart of these awards are the people that work for the EMEA retail industry to ensure the best possible service to the end customer. By developing the right solutions, Microsoft, together with its partners, can help people achieve success in their business by being innovative and feeling empowered to deliver great results for their customers. Congratulations to the winners and thank you to all the partners who took the time to participate."
The awards, which attracted entries from all over the EMEA region including Belgium, France, Israel, South Africa, Sweden, Turkey and the UK, are designed to reward independent software vendors (ISVs) and retailer IT departments that can successfully demonstrate innovation and excellence by delivering business value using Microsoft® technologies in the retail sector. This year's panel of judges was made up of some of the leading figures from the European retail industry: Païvi Hokkanen (Stockmann, Finland), Hansjoerg Bausch (Kaufhof, Germany), Neil Ashworth (Tesco.com, UK), Martin White (Primark, Ireland) and Michael Gerling (EHI Retail Institute, Germany).
Gerling, who is managing director of the EHI Retail Institute and a long-time judge and co-host for the RAD Awards gala dinner, said, "I am extremely delighted to have once again participated in the judging process for this year's Microsoft EMEA RAD Awards. Each year the awards provide me with the opportunity to see first hand the innovative solutions that technology providers have developed for the retail industry during the previous 12 months. Nominating the winners was, as always, an extremely difficult task as the quality of entries was very high, but I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I believe programmes like the RAD Awards play an important role in promoting technology innovation in the retail industry which, in the end, can only improve customers' retail experience"
