Increase loyalty online this Christmas
Customer loyalty schemes from ipoints and Nectar are both trying to increase spend online this Christmas by giving away free points and extending the scheme to new retailers respectively.
ipoints, the online loyalty scheme, is giving away millions of extra points to encourage members to spend more online this Christmas. 300 retailers and affiliates are signed-up with ipoints, including multi-channel retailers who have their own loyalty scheme in place.
Over at Nectar eStores, 11 new e-retailers have joined the scheme to make the most of the Christmas rush. Toys R Us, Hamleys and Early Learning Centre are amongst the new retailers from which customers can earn Nectar points in the same way as they are collected in the high street.
We will be looking at the whole issue of customer loyalty - what it is, how to measure it and more importantly, how to increase it - in the next issue of Internet Retailing magazine.
