Google quarter profit to $1 billion
Google has announced quarterly profits of $1 billion, mainly gained through advertising, the revenue from which has increased. The number of paid clicks on advertising links were up by 52%.
The UK market accounts for 16% of the search company's revenues. At $578 million, this is an increase from 15% last year. It will be interesting to compare this quarter's results with the same period next year since it will include the first revenue from Google Checkout which was launched in the UK this month.
Google is also rebranding its Froogle shopping search engine as Google Product Search.
