GlobalWatch monitoring network expands

Webmetrics (provider of collaborative monitoring solutions for enterprise web ecosystems), is to triple the size of its' GlobalWatch Monitoring Network from 35 to 100 cities. The GlobalWatch Network powers the company's load testing, website monitoring and web analytics services which are used by more than 500 enterprise customers and SaaS providers.

The expansion project will be completed over the next 12 months, and will represent the industry's most comprehensive monitoring network reaching 100 major cities worldwide.

"Expanding our network coverage is a natural progression as we've recently rolled out a series of new monitoring capabilities that have broadened the demand for our GlobalWatch services," said Peter Kirwan, Chief Strategy Officer, Webmetrics.

"With the ability to monitor streaming media, web services and enterprise mashups, we can test and measure the performance of virtually all complex applications delivered online. Extending our monitoring footprint strengthens our ability to reach and serve new territories and continue to evolve our suite of services."

Webmetrics will go live with seven new monitoring agents in the next 60 days. The new agents will be located in Phoenix, AZ, Scranton, PA, Portland, OR, Detroit, MI, Mexico City and Calgary and Waterloo in Canada. Over the next 12 months, Webmetrics will roll out more than 60 additional monitoring cities worldwide, with emphasis in North America, South America, Europe, and Asia. Planned coverage is scheduled for the following cities:
