"Drapers" leaps into the 21st century with Drapersblog
From serious weekly for the fashion trade, to an interactive blogging business - props to Drapers for the launch of drapersblog.com "the forum for everyone in the fashion community to discuss the key issues of the day".
This is one to add to the RSS newsfeed list.
Drapers is already the 'Bible' for the Fashion industry (if the Bible were updated in weekly installments, that is) and this blog gives a more direct insight into the thinking of the editorial team, details of their visits and scouting .
Many B2C publications (eg Handbag.com's editor's blog) are incorporating blogs and user-generated content to maintain customer engagement during that long week between issues, or to ensure that there's something new to encourage visits every lunchtime. Drapers, as a B2B or trade publication, is an early adopter of blogs to increase engagement with their subscriber base. Of course, the open blog will increase Drapers' reach since it's not limited to sunscribers only.

ps Speaking of RSS feeds, don't forget that InternetRetailer can come to you every day, rather than your visiting the site. In addition to the weekly newsletter you can see all of our articles as they are published via our RSS feed.
