Boots planning to launch Boots TV?
Boots is testing out video content on its website and is reported to be planning to launch a standalone online TV channel
A trial of lifestyle orientated video content is currently underway at Boots.com, reports New Media Age, with initial video clips including hairstyling advice and demonstrations from Toni & Guy hairdresser Gary France.
"It's a trial at the moment, but the aim is to turn it into an online TV channel," a source close to the project told NMA. "Boots wants to... cement its authority in the healthcare market online."
A Boots spokeswoman told NMA that "long-terms plans were still in an early stage, but confirmed video content was set to play a major part in the retailer's future online plans."
