[Announcement] Internet Retailing groups on LinkedIn and Facebook

An invitation to join our groups on LinkedIn and Facebook...

I wanted to let you know of some groups we have established at InternetRetailing to help our readers, subscribers, partners and peers to network, make direct contact (not just at the annual conference and dining programmes), as well as to get direct feedback on the direction for the title.

We have established two groups, each with a different "flavour"...

LinkedIn

This group simply aggregates people who are interested in the work of Internet Retailing and the topics we cover. Joining the group will show a "badge" on your profile and will allow you to view the others in the wider network who are interested in the group.

Membership is moderated. You are welcome to share this email and the group link, but all members will be checked by the Editorial team to ensure that membership is comprised of retailers, ecommerce practitioners and credible suppliers.

Click on the group landing page to become a member of the Internet Retailing group.

Please be assured that there are no spamming and mass mailing opportunities, and your profile privacy settings will remain in force. Equally you do not need to receive any mail at all.

LinkedIn provides some brief and useful FAQs for group membership.

Facebook

For those who would like a more active participation we have also set up the Internet Retailing page on Facebook.

Facebook pages allow  members to post comments, to arrange events and to post links, photos and discussion threads.

We expect to use this space to arrange occasional, informal networking events, as well as to disseminate more broadly the proceedings from the conferences and workshop activities.

At present we're not sure how this will work, but in the spirit of experimentation and responding to the dozens of requests we've had to be more 'interactive' in our approach we're going to invest some time in trialling this approach.

As ever, your feedback and suggestions will be greatly appreciated and gratefully received.

Should you have any questions on this please don't hesitate to let me know either by email or in the comments below.

I'm now off to read the manual ;)
