Amazon expands through widgets

Amazon is expanding its reach through the release of a number of 'Amazon Widgets' that can be used to feature products from Amazon on blogs, websites and social networking pages.

The widgets can be populated with the user's favourite Amazon products, for example. They can then add their comments on the products and customise the widget from a set of colour and layout themes.

The widgets are free to use and anyone joining the Amazon Associates program can use them to make money from click- through sales.

Sean McMullan, Manager, Amazon Associates said: "Bloggers and active online social networkers have asked us for a fun and interesting way to display Amazon products on their pages as a way to showcase their favorite things. With Amazon Widgets, they can now do this and make money at the same time."

There are more specialized widgets "coming soon".
