Logistics company aims to help Liverpool FC keep promise to fans
Liverpool Football Club is gearing up to ship its new vintage inspired home kit for 2010/2012. The new kit launches on May 6, and fans, who have been able to preorder online for some time, have been promised they will receive it on that date.
In previous years the football club has sent out the kit by hand, but this year has employed MetaPack to manage the process.
Chris Jennions, internet sales manager at Liverpool FC, said the partnership meant that it could send out more orders and more accurately.
He added: “If you pre-order the kit it is guaranteed to land on May 6, in all countries. Therefore 97% of our orders have already been processed through MetaPack and are now being phased into the DHL network dependant on transit time.”
MetaPack automatically allocates consignments to the most efficient DHL service, allowing customers to receive their orders by May 6 without paying a premium. It can also allocate smaller value orders to Royal Mail delivery instead.
