According to the new “E-Retail-Report 2009 – Kauf- und Zahlverhalten im Online-Warenhandel” by Deutsche Card Services, in 2009 six out of ten transactions in Germany’s online shopping were done by women. In 2005/06 is was the other way aroung: 56% of transactions were done by men vs. 44% by the ladies.

The bulk of annual revenue (12,4%) is generated in December (guess why!), and the best day of the week for e-retailers is Monday. Curiouser and curiouser: 2% of British transactions occurred between 4 and 6 a.m….

Revenue is growing continuously: According to the report, the average B2C shopping cart amounted to 89,43 Euro, up 15 euros from the previous year (2008). The shopping shopping cart in general e-commerce (B2B) amounted up to 84,31 euros.
