FACT-Finder, the e-commerce search and navigation specialist, is today launching an i-Phone application giving retailers access to a virtual “pocket-shop”.

Developed by Omikron, FACT-Finder, which is already the market-leading search and navigation solution for ecommerce in Europe, is an error-tolerant high-performance search engine, which works independently of language and is used by over 700 online shops.

The new application will allow e-retailers to use the system regardless of whether the shop’s online platform is compatible with the iPhone or not. It allows any e-retailer to appear on the iPhone by using a three-step template: design customisation; connection to the shop’s payment system; and registration to the App Store.

The iPhone application also makes use of FACT-Finder’s “Suggest” feature, whereby users can type in a few letters and potential matches are displayed in a selectable list, increasing usability. The feature is self-learning, meaning that the list of suggestions reflects queries entered into the e-retailer’s site.
