In the spirit of Christmas, fun, charity – not to mention a level of post-conference ‘therapy’, we’re pleased to announce (drumroll) the inaugural InternetRetailing/BeringerTame eCommerce Charity Pub Quiz – IRBTECPQ.

It’s a simple idea:

  • 10 teams of four
  • Four rounds of questions
  • Some of the questions allegedly may relate to eCommerce, but it’s not very likely.

To make things a little more fun, each team will play for a charity of their choice and Patrick Tame (the eponymous founder of Beringer Tame) will be in possession of the BT Chequebook and will donate £500 to the winners’ chosen charity.

The event (nay, occasion) is being held as follows:

  • Adam Street Members Club (9 Adam Street, London WC2N 6AA)
  • 25 November, 2009
  • Drinks and nibbles from 6.30
  • Quiz Master takes the microphone from 7pm
  • Drinks etc throughout/after until the budget expires

We have teams already in place from Amazon UK, House of Fraser, John Lewis, ASOS, Google UK, Arcadia, Marks & Spencer and a freewheeling ‘pirate’ team whose identity is currently secret…

This leaves us with about 8 places only, sorry, and we’re keen to fill these with keen eCom Quizsters!

If you’d like to join us please complete the online application/waitlist form here.

Also, if you’re so minded, please do help us out with some ideas for good “eCommerce Pub Quiz Questions” – your thoughts appreciated via this form.

Again, our apologies that we have so little room for demand, but we did rather underestimate how keen the first clutch of people would be! Next time we’ll arrange a bigger venue.

Photos from the event, and the tweet-length acceptance speeches of the victors will be posted as soon afterwards as we’re able!
