HDN adds Plumbworld to its collection

Plumbworld, the UK’s largest online specialist bathroom retailer, has appointed Home Delivery Network (HDN) as its primary carrier.
The move sees HDN take on 24-hour, proof of delivery (POD) and Saturday services for the company, which has been trading since 1999 and now sells over 6,500 products including baths, showers, sinks, furniture, lighting, heating systems and plumbing accessories.
As part of the new partnership, HDN will also be delivering for Toolbox.co.uk, the UK’s fastest growing online specialist tools retailer, which along with Plumbworld is owned by The Grafton Group.
“The current economic climate is driving more and more people onto our site in search of high quality products at the right price — we now have over 300,000 customers and this is growing steadily month on month,” says Sean Foy, operations director at Plumbworld.
“We need a reliable delivery partner that can handle high volumes as well as offer suitable services for our customers — and these, along with our own products and competitive prices, will help to differentiate us from our competitors,” he added. “With a rapidly increasing customer base across the UK, we also need to work with a partner that has true national reach and that fully understands online retail.”
“We are delighted to enter the booming online DIY sector with a company that has such a strong growth record and ambitious plans for the future,” said Brian Gaunt, chief executive of Home Delivery Network. “Plumbworld is an incredibly popular site with consumers and SME plumbing companies looking to capitalise on the latest ranges at affordable prices. We look forward to working with Plumbworld and responding to the increasing demands of customers who require more convenient and secure deliveries.”
