Tesco has launched the Tesco Store and Product Finder, an iPhone app designed to help customers locate their nearest UK Tesco store and help them to find any grocery product in that store by describing its aisle and shelf.

In the future, Nick Lansley, Tesco’s head of R&D explains on his blog, a number of enhancements to the service are planned, including:

  • The ability for a customer to search for any grocery product and then find out the nearest stores that stock it.
  • A link to a home shopping customer’s favourites list so they can find these products in any Tesco store that stocks them.
  • Extending the range beyond groceries to include more non-food items such as electricals and household items.

wow this is really poor from Tesco. With an intuitive format such as Applicaitons, the best they could think was a store finder? The Occado App is tremendous, and really adds to the experience of working with their brand – if Tesco couldn’t even get into the same ballpark as this they should have left it alone.

    A real mistake by them
