HMV adds Endeca search engine to its website

HMV has added a new search engine to its website, designed to provide faster search, better results, faceted navigation, an improved ability to merchandise products and greater opportunities to personalise the user experience.
The new search engine was implemented by marketing and technology agency LBi, HMV’s strategic technical partner, and marks the completion of the first phase of HMV’s website redevelopment.
LBi is working as HMV’s lead partner in the project, which is planned to go fully live in 2010, and worked with HMV on the choice of Endeca to deliver the new search engine.
LBi and HMV have worked together since April 2007 on digital strategy, web design and build, search engine optimisation, technology, design and implementation, user research, testing and quality assurance. In 2008, LBi designed and delivered HMV’s social discovery site getcloser.com.
