Internet Retailing 2009: Lastminute.com on ‘your customers are everywhere’

As web browsing increasingly shifts from the desktop and into any number of mobile settings, new challenges and opportunities are arising for the canny online retailer. Lastminute.com‘s head of innovation, Marko Balabanovic, explains: “Last year lastminute.com started a new project to look at what we can do for our mobile customers. They’re physically mobile — at home, at work, away for the weekend, commuting, on the sofa, out on the town. They’re also virtually mobile — much more likely to be on twitter or facebook or in email than coming to www.lastminute.com.
“We’ve been building and launching a variety of mobile apps, and talking to people to see what they like and don’t like; what they want and need; what they love and hate. In this presentation I’ll take you through some key things we’ve learned from the mobile apps we’ve launched.”
• Internet Retailing 2009 takes place on Tuesday 13 October at the Novotel in Hammersmith, west London. The full conference agenda, along with speaker profiles, is now available online. Conference delegate and exhibition visitor registration is also now open.
