Ikea reports results of mobile couponing campaign
Ikea has been running a mobile couponing campaign at its store in Seattle, USA, using bCode‘s mobile coupon delivery and redemption platform.
Members of the Ikea Mobile programme were sent member-exclusive secure SMS offers up to twice a month. They then needed to make a visit to the store in order to redeem their offer.
On arrival, they ‘scanned’ their bCode secure SMS offer at one of three bCode MediaPlane interactive terminals, selected their desired offer and then printed a paper coupon to use during check-out at the point of sale.
The bCode service was able to track offer conversion down to the individual level, providing details of the effectiveness of an offer to drive additional foot traffic and delivering a quantitative return on investment for those offers.
The bCode campaigns have been found to deliver an average 5% to 10% in-store coupon redemption rate. Plus, consumers that have scanned a bCode mobile coupon spend, on average, significantly more than a customer who has not scanned a bCode.
Readers can see a case study on the campaign on the Mobile Marketing Association website.
