Argos customers can now find clearance bargains by postcode

Argos has put its clearance stock onto the web with a facility that lets customers check the one-off deals available at their nearest stores.

A special Clearance section on the main Argos website tells customers “There are now two ways to find our clearance stock. You can browse our clearance items by category or search using town name or postcode for item(s) in your local store.”

Traditionally, tracking down Argos Clearance deals has involved visiting stores individually to see what is on offer. Using the new system, however, shoppers in Abergavenny, for example, can see that (at the time of writing) there are 481 products available, ranging from a blue five-piece bathroom set at £1.89 through to a 32″ HD LCD television at £299.99.

The retailer does warn customers, though, that “We update our systems regularly, however as these are clearance items, stock is limited. When it’s gone….IT’S GONE. We recommend that you check stock before adding item(s) to your trolley.”

Argos runs a formidable multi-tiered clearance operation that takes in dedicated bricks and mortar clearance stores in Corby, Walsall and Stanley, an eBay shop and an auction-based trade clearance website.
