Net-A-Porter reports profits up 230%

Submitted by on June 12, 2009 – 3:27 pmNo Comment

Upmarket internet fashion retailer Net-a-Porter.com has reported an increase in sales of 48% and a rise in profits of more than 230% for its year to end January 2009.

A more strategic approach to buying and exclusive collaborations with designers such as Alexander McQueen and RM by Roland Mouret were key growth drivers, Net-a-Porter reports.

On average, 6,500 new customers visit the site each month and both the back office systems and the website have been redesigned over the past year to cope with the increased demand.

“I am thrilled with this year’s results, which continue to show that people are turning to the internet as a viable — and in many cases, preferred — shopping and media destination,” says founder and chairman Natalie Massenet.
