Asos goes live with community service

Submitted by Sarah Clark on April 17, 2009 – 10:11 pmNo Comment

Asos has unveiled its much anticipated Asos Life community service, a full social networking service for fashion conscious Asos customers. Asos Life users can:

  • Create a profile
  • Make friends
  • Write a blog
  • Discuss a topic in the forums
  • Start a group or join an existing one
  • Provide feedback to Asos

In a launch blog post, Asos explains the philosophy behind Asos Life:

A while ago we spotted that loads of our customers — including you! — are on social media sites already (most notably Facebook and Twitter — hi to everyone who’s come over here from there!), and because we’re a sociable bunch we joined up and got chatting.

But after a while we realised that we could offer you so much more.

Why should you have to leave Asos to talk about fashion and to meet other Asos customers? And to meet us?

So we decided to open up Asos by launching this community. We want to get to know you, we think you want to get to know us — and we reckon this is the best way to do it.

So what is ASOS Life?

Quite simply, it’s a space for you to talk to us, to talk to other customers, and to — hopefully — enrich the time you spend on ASOS.
