Phones4u retail staff given power to match website prices?
“Phones 4u retail staff given new powers to match website prices,” trumpeted Mobile Today last week:
Phones 4u has given store staff new powers to match online deals from the start of this month.
It comes as more customers visit stores after seen deals on Phones 4u’s website, and are frustrated to find more expensive deals in stores.
One manager said: ‘It’s great for staff, customers and the brand. It shows we are joined up and working for the customer.’
Just a few hours later, though, and the dangers of trying to implement policies like this without thinking things through extremely carefully became clear as a comment was added to the article by ‘chilly’:
this is untrue as far as im aware im writing this as i sit in a phones4u store as an employee and noone here knows anything about this surely this cannot be right or has the company yet again released info to the public before us???
Oops.
