Ocado signs content deal with Dorling Kindersley
Ocado and Dorling Kindersley have signed a content deal that will see Ocado publishing recipes from Dorling Kindersley cook books on its website — and also offering customers the option to buy the books featured.
“The deal comes as Ocado looks to make its site more content-rich by building a recipe library and selling cookbooks online,” reports New Media Age, and a key benefit of the deal to Ocado is that it will be able to track its customers’ behaviour more satisfactorily by providing better insight into what they want and how they like to shop for food.
The Dorling Kindersley recipes, including a recipe for Apple Crumble from ‘The Cooking Book’, have been added to the Recipes tab on the Ocado website and can be searched by ingredient, diet and time. Once a recipe has been selected, the ingredients can be automatically added to the user’s shopping basket or printed out as lists.
