Now even the milkman’s getting into ecommerce
Following a successful trial at thirty regional depots, Dairy Crest is rolling out nationally its Milk & More online ordering and delivery service in a bit to both sell more dairy products online and encourage people to use their milkman, reports NMA:
Milk & More was launched to offer consumers the opportunity to order Dairy Crest products such as bread, cheese, eggs, fruit juice and milk and have them delivered by the dairy’s network of milkmen.
Caroline Hawksworth, online marketing manager at Dairy Crest, said the site was designed to help consumers and milkmen. “Online ordering offers a way forward for milkmen in the 21st century.”
She said many customers use the service because they want to support local businesses.
An ad campaign is currently being developed by Iris Digital to follow the launch of the new site.
Rival milk brand Cravendale also revealed a new site this week, developed by digital agency Outside Line. World of Milk features an interactive navigation system along with a range of promotional content.
